Alfred Arnold 142-note bandoneon, ½ decoration (tres estrellas), black, AA production number #2914, built ca. 1913 in Carlsfeld; the bandoneon has original zinc reed plates with reeds in very good condition, it is a bisonoric instrument with octave tuning,  tuned to A’ = 440 Hz, Rhenish (Argentine) system; the bellows are relatively new (approx. 10 years old) with beautiful red marbled paper (similar to the original Gustav marble), original leather valves; the action has been repaired in a very unconventional way but functions well; the sound is incredibly powerful (one of the most powerful bandoneons I have heard so far)—it will hold its own in any orchestra or for street music, simply excellent; it has very well-preserved original buttons; visually, it is not in good condition, both externally and internally, as it has been heavily tinkered with and repainted, so it definitely needs restoration,  but is absolutely playable in its current state; anyone who wants it to be perfect will have to invest more money into it, while those who don’t have the funds right now can still play it with joy. The seller is a smoker, and you can still smell it, but that will change over time. The bandoneon has built-in microphones, as it was often played for street performances and in entertainment bands with a drum set. Overall, it is an incredible, very old AA bandoneon with an amazing sound that has been played extensively and professionally; definitely a special instrument. It comes without a bag (a new bag is available for an additional fee), with an old case, and, as always, with many sheet music scores and instructional books for the bandoneon.
